Medical Weight Loss
Medical weight loss, or bariatrics, is a comprehensive non-surgical approach, including unique programs for medically complex patients. Our non-surgical weight loss program offers you customized guidance and support, including medications, nutritional counseling and sessions with a psychologist.
Surgical Weight Loss Options
Maybe you’ve already tried a medical approach to weight loss; maybe you can benefit from bariatric surgery to reach your healthy weight. We offer minimally-invasive surgical procedures including gastric bypass surgery, sleeve surgery, band surgery and modified duodenal switch.
All these procedures can be performed using minimally-invasive laparoscopic surgery. This means the surgeon uses a tiny camera, called a laparoscope, and thin surgical instruments. For you, this means less blood loss, smaller scars and a shorter recovery time.
All procedures are performed within Norman Regional Health System. Norman Regional is a bariatric hospital, accredited by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Bariatric centers with this accreditation follow a rigorous review process to prove their resources and standards of practice. Our bariatric program has also been recognized as a Women’s Choice Award Winner for Best Hospitals for Bariatric Care in 2020.
Each of these types of surgery for weight loss has its own benefits and risks. Select any procedure below to learn more.
